Thomastik Spirocore Cello Strings
Flexible multiwire spiral rope core. Less inertia, longer period of
musical vibration. Equally effective when playing arco or pizzicato.
Highly responsive, long lasting. SPIROCORE strings, widely recognized as
“the reference standard”, are legendary for distinctive tone and
playability.
Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore cello strings are a further technical
development of the rope-core string, with a more flexible steel spiral
core. The spiral rope has a greater elasticity, and therefore a higher
period of vibration than other rope strings. The sound is full,
homogeneous, powerful and balanced. The string has been calibrated to
satisfy the desire of many artists for a string that is equally effective
for arco and pizzicato playing styles.
Thomastik-Infeld has tackled notorious cello problems such as wolf
notes and muting difficulties with Spirocore C and G strings in wound
tungsten and silver. Spirocore's hi-tech core makes for effortless
fingering, responsive bowing, stable tuning, and a very long string life.
With Spirocore, the steel string's technical possibilities have been
developed to their maximum.
